What's going on with hotels and motels?

I am finding interesting to know about hotel prices, this is helpful to compare with other hotel deal offers or to plan a trip by having an idea of the costs involved for accommodation.

This is an insider job, let's see what is happening!

A traveller to City of Ventura California, found a good deal at Ocean View Motel Ventura for one king bed room, two adults, non smoking, arriving 23 March, leaving 25 March for a total price of 124.52 US$ (that includes taxes and fees for 14.52 US$) which is on average a total price of 62.26 US$ per day stay. Reservation can even be canceled 24 hrs in advance of arrival without penalty, subsequently a one night charge applies. This is a small motel with 28 rooms but very well located in Ventura Califonia, between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.

One more place and one more hotel to discover: Econo Lodge in San Antonio Texas, quite interesting as San Antonio is one or the most visited city in Texas and many peopley may be looking for a cheap place to stay. Here we have one room with two queen beds for a one night stay arriving 19 March sold at 82.87 US$, not bad for San Antonio. It is important to note that also in this case I am quoting taxes and fees inclusive prices, there may be lower rates offered somewhere but once taxes and fees are added the total rate could be higher so I know I have to be very careful when comparing prices. Sea World San Antonio, one major attraction opened the 6th of March.

Moving to Arizona, Phoenix / Tempe and Mesa area I picked up one hotel reservation for La Quinta Inn Phoenix in Tempe Sky Harbor Airport South. A well known brand, a great location just two miles from the airport and offering a complimentary shuttle service. A medium size hotel with 128 rooms on three floors and all services which can be expected, including free parking. Our happy traveller booked three nights March 23 to March 26 for a total price of 288.13 US$ - Tax/Fees inclusive!! - with a daily rate average of 96.04 US$ for a hotel with many positive reviews by actual customers.
